In a recent session, Uganda’s Parliament has backed the Government’s move to phase out comprehensive nursing certificate and diploma courses across public and private institutions. “The committee recommends that the Ministry of Education and Sports reconsider their decision to phase out these courses and, instead, focus on enhancing the curriculum,” Lokwang stated. The decision reflects a balanced approach, aiming to address concerns while ensuring the best outcomes for nursing education and the healthcare system as a whole.
